Preparing Your Translation

Here Lingua Translations has compiled a list of translation top tips to help you get the very best out of your translation.

Before calling for a quote, try and have as much of the following information ready as you can:

Some translation top tips to consider before you get in touch

  • Approximate number of words that need to be translated
  • Language/s you want your text translated into
  • A deadline for the translation
  • Type of text you need translated (website, certificate, contract…)
  • Idea of what the text is about

This means that we can process your request quickly and get started on your translation project straight away.

Don’t worry if you don’t have all of this information or you don’t know exactly what level of translation service you require, our Sales Coordinator and Project Managers can help you to choose the best service to suit your specific translation project and its requirements.

Don’t compromise on quality. The cheapest quote is not always the best! Translation is a highly specialised field and if you don’t have the right translator you are likely to get a poor quality translation. Poor translations reflect terribly on companies and can ruin reputations.

Don’t forget: ‘Translation – pay peanuts and you get monkeys!

Translation is not an immediate service. Although more often than not we are able to meet very tight deadlines, we want to ensure both accuracy and efficiency. Don’t forget the time and effort that went into the original document – we want to make sure that this hard work is also reflected in the translation.

Most of our translators can accurately translate approximately 2,500 to 3,000 words per day, depending on the technicality of the text.

You will be assigned a Project Manager who is a linguist in their own right as a single point of contact. They are there for you whenever you need them, via telephone and/or email. We would much rather address any queries you have during the translation process than have you unhappy after the project is completed.

We love to hear your feedback so please get in touch to let us know what you think of our service.
