Technical translation is the translation of technical documents written in one language into another language. These documents could be user manuals for electronic items, engineering diagrams or product installation documents. This is a very specialized field of translation services since it involves a lot of technical or engineering terms. As these terms are not easily understandable by many non-technical translators, there are very high chances of errors, if the translation is done by them. These errors can be dangerous, particularly if the document involves a manual that details installation of an electric appliance. So in order to avoid these errors, technical translation must always be done by qualified technical experts.

Factors to look for when selecting the right translation company for your technical translation requirements:

With many technical companies going global to increase their business, they have found it a necessity to get their product documents translated. As a result, the demand for the technical translators has gone up sharply. To capitalize on this demand, many translation companies have started offering the technical translation services. However despite the fact that most of them claim to offer high-quality service, the veracity of their claims remain doubtful. Also there are no established benchmarks that can be used to measure these claims. This can confound those who are looking for technical translators for the first time. If you are confused then use these pointers to help you in choosing the right translation company for your needs.

What do the old clients have to say about the performance of the translation company? Was it able to meet its deadline commitments? Was the quality of end product acceptable? Could the company adapt to the changed project requirement? Does the translation company have reputable certifications like ISO 9001 and EN 15038? These certificates are regarded as the highest quality standards in the translation industry. Are you planning to translate your documents into Polish? If yes, does the translation company have native Polish speakers as translators? Getting the translation done from a native Polish speaker is much more accurate than that done by non-native Polish speaker. Do you want to translate process control documents for setting up boiler plant? If yes, does the translation company have experts in this field as their employers? Don’t forget that this process is very crucial as any mistakes in translation can lead to explosion in the factory. Do you intend to outsource your work to a translation company abroad in order to save money? If so, is the company open to accepting payment through the mode of your choice? While you may choose to pay by Paypal, it is not available in some countries.

Selecting a right technical translator is important in order to get the best quality of service from your chosen translation company.

Let’s say that you happen to be one of those people that has a very limited vocabulary, understanding how to combine the same words into different sequences to impart different meanings can be very affective, here is a great example: “Sheila heard him screaming at her” or “Sheila heard her screaming at him” both of these sentences employ the exact same words, but by rearranging the order of the words “her” and “him” we were able to give the words different meanings. Grammar is the only thing that makes this possible. Grammar by definition is a languages set of rules that dictate the ordering and combining of words to make them into understandable sentences.

When children first begin to speak it is usually in short 2 or 3 word sentences, this is would be described as telegraphic, or short, simple sequences of words without tenses, plurals, or function. In order to develop the capability of making whole sentences children must first acquire the knowledge to to utilize other forms of speech. In the English language this means understanding how to use the correct subject verb order, as in ” Corey chased the dog.”

Grammatical skill in using morphemes is also necessary as they are the meaningful units that make up words. Morphemes have the responsibility of of marking nouns so they show possession and plurality, and verbs so that they will show tense. It should be noted the often times morphemes do make mistakes because they cannot decipher how to apply the appropriate rules at times. One example of this is that after understanding how to create the past tense verb tense using -ed or -d the rule may not be applied which can create nonwords like “beated.”

These are just a few of the fundamental elements that are necessary to understand grammar. I recommend that anyone who is truly interested in truly understanding grammar at it’s full length do a more in depth research on the topic.

Today we live in a time that requires each of us to evaluate, as well as re-evaluate just what our future is going to actually hold. Many people have been affected by the housing collaspe, the massive job losses, as well as the banking industry going in the toilet. When the beginning of a new year comes around many people decide to make a resolution, or a commitment of some sort to do better than the year before. It’s going to be 2010 in about 2 weeks, you are not to late, if you look within yourself there are a number of things that you’ve learned, in your lifetime.

The World is hungry for the knowledge that you have within, what is that knowledge you may be asking. Let me give you just a few examples of what I mean. Since the invention of the Internet, information is accessed at the speed of light, any topic you want to learn about is only a Google search away. Now let’s assume you were raised on a farm, there are things that people from the city wouldn’t have a clue about. Or perhaps your first job was in a fast food restaurant, there are things that have to be done a certain way in order for the business to run effectively. All those are skills that you possess within yourself, all that is necessary from you is to bring it out on paper just like this.

Many people think that in order to write a book it has to be two or three hundred pages, and that you will need a publisher, a copywriter,etc.. all that is not true. There are articles, e-books, blogs, etc, all those are forms of expressing things that you know about, many only require one or two hundred words to become published. And as everyone knows the more you practice something the better you get at it. You will also make more contacts or connections through networking, which is a great attribute because as you find yourself more involved in writing about things that you know already, you will meet others who have similar interest and all will possess different skill sets.

Remember as times change you also have to change, and the things you probably thought at one time was impossible, all of a sudden becomes your reality. Trust in yourself and your ability, you can do it, just look within.
